A note from Phil

First of all, my wife and I would like to thank all of you who sent such nice notes acknowledging our 50th anniversary.  Although our celebration was not what we had originally planned, we did have a GREAT day to start of the next 50!!  FAW!!  WNM!!
FirstSwing is still fighting to play a few games and host our tourneys, but the state of Washington has kept us off the diamond.  It is sad that the virus has become such a volatile political issue and that the politicos have made it a predominant issue in their rhetoric.  The youngster of today are becoming less active and more importantly paranoid and afraid of living thier lives.  It seems that the “adults” have let these kids down and by restricting their socialization, have limited their learning opportunities and life experiences.  “Life is definitely not fair”(neither is baseball) but we need leadership to step up to the plate and provide viable soluions not just pointing fingers and restricting life!!!
Hope youa re well and are stying safe!  GAGPTH!

This BIQ is to honor one of the greatest athletes of all-time.  A five(or more) sport athlete that many of you might not have seen compete or even know by name.  We have had many great multi-sport athletes.  Some of the ones who were not just players in 4 or more sports but excelled at the highest level in each: Amos Alonzo Stagg, Jim Thorpe, Jackie Robinson, Dave Winfield, Jim Brown, Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker, and of course, Babe Didrikson Zaharias.  Hope you enjoy reading about a true living legend!!  GAGPTH!
